So I picked this VL up to use the bags in the VN and the rest of the car was a daily, but now its turning into another project (they always seem to, anyone know how to stop this?) and ive decided to turn it into a BT1 mock up, its taken a while but its finally starting to come together.


Model: 1988 VL SL
Engine: RB30E
Colour: Apline white over MX Grey Bars (currently grey primer with yellow bay and door jams)

Engine Bay:
Resprayed absynth yellow with shaved satin black airbox.. thats all thats in there atm..

Engine: (which is currently sitting on a rooted tyre in my shed)
8mm Eagle Leads
NGK Spark Plugs
K&N Pannel Filter

Exhaust:
Extractors
2.5" Catback Exhaust

Body:
Halfway through a completely respray and colour change to Absnyth Yellow.

Gearbox/Driveline:
5 Speed Manual
Borgwarner 28 spline (full vn diff will be replacing shortly to a proper 28 spline vl diff)

Suspension/Brakes:

Standard (have ultra low springs for front and custom mades for the rear)
Formerly on Bags in the rear.

Interior:
Cream SL Interior
DRIFT white seat covers
White Rear Venetian

Stereo:
Kenwood KDC - MP5036U Head Unit
Stock In dash Speakers for Fronts
Kenwood 6x9s in rear
Audio line Bridged 4ch powering a 12" Jenson sub

Wheels/Tyres:
VX SS 17s

Wish List/Future Plans:
Absynth Yellow Respray (in progess)
Get RWC (most importaint atm lol)
Calais front and Rear Bars
VX GTS Wheels
Respray Ventians
Cream Calais Interior

Looking good Mark, Absinth Yellow is one of my favourite colours. I'm still waiting for someone to do a Walkinshaw GrpA replica in Absinth Very Happy

id have to say glenn that a walky in the yellow i think would look trick as well. by jeez it would stand out in a crowd too. im a fan of yellow, not that im biased or anything......... Very Happy

Ah crap, looks like im stuck with the bug then !

And yeah I reaaly love this colour always wanted a yellow VL but no way I could afford a genuine, so I made my own Smile walky idea sounds tuff as too !

Yeah man she was pretty damn rough when I picked her up, but she was on bags in the ass so that was a major selling point thats why it was so low in all the photos, but they'll be going in my other car Smile

For those of you who I dont have on FB I have a few updates!

Theres now something inbetween the strut towers and it looks quite good there even if I do say so myself. Next up is to rewire this stupid fuse box and put the 5 speed back in!

That would have to be the best detailed/painted engine I've seen in a VL, subtle, but has an impact on the retina's you can't miss.
Can't wait to see this one in the flesh.

but most RB30's i've seen are like the emo versions you know... hahaha
